Band camp 101 prep kit List of items that help every bandcamper have a more pleasant experience no matter what may happen!! · Tennis shoes that have usable shoe laces and good soles · Multiple pairs of socks (we sweat a lot and also do activities that could get leaders wet) · Sunscreen, sunscreen and lots of sunscreen!! · Pencil & spiral notepad or index card book to hang on string around neck for quick access · Thin binder with sheet protectors · Water jug (not bottle unless several in a cooler you haul) · 1 extra outfit per day (in case of extreme weather hot or wet and messy activities) · Quick healthy snacks · Ball cap or visor to protect the face · Sunglasses (we spend a lot of time looking up during the daytime…. its sunny!) · Towel or blanket to place instrument or case on (asphalt can scratch stuff and dirt does not taste good) · Bandana or towel to wet and wrap around the head or neck · Shorts and white t-shirts. Jeans and sweats are never acceptable and neither is black in any clothing. This is a health concern due to heat and the white shirts are needed to set the field. · Did we mention sunscreen!
